We recommend
Raseborg Castle is a medieval fortress and one of the most magnificent ruins in Finland. It was originally founded on a rocky island in the 1370s to protect shipping in the Gulf of Finland and to serve as the administrative center for Western Uusimaa. Today, due to land uplift, the ruins lie inland.
Malmbacka is a private cultural and historical area, a cottage village and Finland’s only coal-fired village. It is located in the historic rural environment of Snappertuna. The area offers nature experiences and year-round accommodation in a cottage or coal hut on a comfortable sheepskin shack.
